RTKL's global web presence was completely redesigned to showcase architecture as art. The site's highlight is a project portfolio, a gallery of thousands of searchable project images tagged to markets, services, regions and expertise and linked to corresponding areas of the site via a complex relational database. A custom content management system, project data entry scheme and site-wide localization allows the client to easily keep worldwide marketing and news content up to date.

Anna Demovidova

This Washington, DC based artist wanted a minimalist web site to showcase her sensuous, dreamy and provocative paintings. The gallery page brings her rich images to the foreground and makes them part of the interface itself, while other controls and elements become secondary. The viewer is given a small taste of this feast for the eyes, with a chance to occasionally pause and contemplate further.

Who Owes What

We developed this personal finance app out of frustration with the cumbersome cost sharing apps we had been using. This suite of four apps in one monitors ongoing loans and debts with friends or colleagues, keeps track of outings where you just take turns paying, and calculates restaurant bills in a few taps. The check can be split evenly or according to what each person owes, without the trouble of adding up every item. Careful attention to design and detail give a professional and satisfying user experience.

Minding Your Mind

The Minding Your Mind Foundation needed a rich yet simple web presence to support their mission of improving the lives of adolescents with mental health issues. Their web site was designed to grow their audience, establish an online community, provide educational resources for key stakeholders such as parents and educators, and raise funds for their mission. Admin modules were developed to let the client easily control visual aspects of the site and post video material using simple, rich interfaces with immediate feedback (such as drag-and-drop), while basic content is published via Adobe® Contribute.

Sentrana

This scientific marketing company required an online survey tool to assist in its own marketing efforts. Potential customers are given information about the scientific marketing process while answering questions about their current practices. Once the survey is complete, evaluative feedback is given based on a scoring algorithm, and the customer is invited to discuss the results further with Sentrana.

Business information tools such as this can also easily be converted into desktop applications through the use of Adobe® AIR.

Homes For America

Homes For America is a non-profit property development company focused on developing affordable rental housing communities. In addition to advertising their properties and services, they required a complex property performance dashboard. We developed a suite of applications to manage their property data, report on property performance, and calculate risk assessment. Reports are highly customizable and feature color graphs and drill-downs to levels of underlying data.

The final two slides demonstrate the more advanced possibilities available to today's business information systems through the use of Adobe® Flex Charting.
